Happy Friday to you! Here is your wee Friday Flashback for today:
This is a short blurb about the Lippitt Foundation mare, Rose of Sutton, written by Laura Stillwell Algranti for a 1985 issue of the Lippitt Club News.
Rose of Sutton (Bob Morgan x G M Prescott Mare) was bred by L.H. Pond of Sutton, VT and foaled in 1904. Although her sire line is Woodbury, she is really a “Sherman.” She has 18 crosses to Sherman and 11 to Woodbury and 2 in Bulrush. Six of her crosses to Sherman are through the great Billy Root 9 and four are through Batchelder 17.
(Rose of Sutton’s) sire, Bob Morgan, was one of the best Vermont Stallions of his time. He was noted for his type, action and temperament as well as being a show ring success.
