Happy Friday! Here is a Friday Flashback for you from 1984:
“Lippitts at the ‘Big E’” by Nancy Plimpton:
On September 16 and 17, (1984), Stillwater Indigo (Moro Hill’s Adonis x Natick Moro Independence) and Ryegate Tambourine (Ryegate Bob Allen x Samantha Twilight) took part at Eastern States Fair, held in Springfield, Massachusetts.
They took turns for the two days in the Vermont Building, on display to represent the Morgan breed. On Sunday the 16th, it was Vermont Day at the Big E, with 161,000 people visiting the fair. A large parade was held. Indigo, ridden by his owner Lester Welch, of Randolph, Vermont, and Tambourine, ridden by her owner, Ernest Knudsen, of East Randolph, Vermont, took part in the parade, following the First Army Band right down and around the whole fairgrounds and 161,000 people.
