Happy Friday! Here is a wee Friday Flashback for you:
Without the Stephen Dow Mare there would be no Lippitt Morgan as we know it. This mare was the dam of Ethan Allen 2nd, who became the cornerstone horse for the Lippitt Morgan strain. This mare was foaled in 1863, in Woburn, MA. She was by Ethan Allen, who was by Blawk Hawk, who was by Sherman Morgan, who was by Justin Morgan. The Stephen Dow Mare was out of Jenny, who was by Hales Green Mountain Morgan, who was by Gifford Morgan, who was by Woodbury Morgan, who was by Justin Morgan.
She had only two recorded progeny, a colt (Ethan Allen 2nd), and a filly (Nellie).
